Hi there!  I’m Kristen, marketing and event planner here at 2hands studios.  I have 11 years experience in marketing, PR, wedding and event planning for social, nonprofit and corporate clients.  I live in Annapolis with my husband Ted and two small people, Paris and Nicolas, and I enjoy a good mojito (don’t forget the sugar cane!).  I’d describe my style as classic…with a twist!  I love updating traditional themes and silhouettes with modern or bohemian touches, but also welcome an exciting design challenge.  I look forward to meeting with you and helping you create a memorable experience!  

Life takes you down so many paths, but when a spectacular, unexpected one opens up, you know amazing things will happen. My path started when I met my husband in college and toured together in our band for 8+ years. I've always been an entertainer at heart, which is, among other reasons, why Ally and I connected instantly. I am a graphic designer by trade which is why I brought in our line of invitations. After Ally and I met, we realized our husbands new each other in high school, our kids quickly became besties, and the rest is history. Don and I still perform on occasion, love my Jersey girl roots, lipstick, and watching my children grow into amazing young people. I'm always up for an adventure and can't wait to hear about yours!

Our Friendship goes way back and our respect for each other runs deep. Not only have we known each other since our children were babies but all of our husbands went to high school together. Annapolis is a very small, quaint town and that small town feel has been such an asset to our connections and friendships across the wedding industry.  Get to know each of us a bit more below, but our doors are always open for a visit!

A leap of faith is how I became a part of 2hands Studios. I’ve been in the hospitality field for nearly 20 years producing events spanning from intimate garden weddings to 7000 person galas. Somewhere along the way, I discovered my true passion...making people happy.  It’s what makes me happy! Of all the events that I have been a part of (over 2000…crazy, but true), weddings have always been what I am most drawn to.  So when 2 of my closest friends reached out a few years back about adding a new division to their already successful event business, I took that leap of faith and am so grateful that I did! 

I love getting to know my clients personally and helping them bring their ideas to life to create their dream wedding.  I’m a sucker for a good “how we met” story. Can’t wait to meet you and hear yours!


JEN NYLAND - LEAD PLANNER

I guess I have always been a free spirit.  I have always been one to follow my dreams fiercely to see where they lead. I began my career in theatre, spent some time living in India, taught special education, and then started a business designing and making one of a kind jewelry pieces and handbags.  And then I met Jill!  Jill and I hit it off right away. We both loved designing, loved theatre and, it turns out our husbands went to high school together (small world!). We were destined to be friends and I just love the business we have created together.  One of my favorite aspects about our business is the people we have met along our way.  Our clients and their families mean the world to me and have helped shape 2hands into what it is today!
